  Since 2018, Peter has had an ongoing full-time assignment at Scandinavia's largest cinema operator (Filmstaden/Odeon Kino). Over the years, Peter has been involved in a large number of large and small projects, a selection of which is listed below, but also in the ongoing development and management of the customer's sales system.
  
  Filmstaden's first IT system was implemented in the mid-1980s and the organization has many years of experience in conducting business in an IT context.
  
  However, during Peter's years, a major rejuvenation work has been done and today all central parts of the system have been replaced with modern technologies and industry standards.
  
  Fully integrated CI/CD pipelines are used for the build and release process.
  
  Peter has been a central part in the development of the system to what it is today, and has either been responsible for, or part of the team for, all the implementations that make up the system to date.
  
  Peter has extensive experience and habit of working daily with Java-based systems in a clustered Docker environment and with applications built with modern industry standards such as Spring Boot, Jakarta EE and Quarkus.
  
  He is used to working with transaction-heavy backend systems with many external integrations and payment providers, which place high demands on robustness.
  
  Furthermore, Peter works on a daily basis with SaaS services provided by Azure. Among others, Service Bus, Azure AD, Cosmos DB, Azure Postgres DB, Azure Functions etc.
  
  In addition to this, he has expertise in various database systems such as DB2, Postgres and MySql.
  
  Peter also spends a lot of time maintaining his knowledge of the design principles that are prized by modern IT systems and takes ongoing courses to further his education.

• Film City

  System Developer And Architect

  2024 - 2025

  One of the biggest projects during Peter's time at Filmstaden/Odeon was Project Terminator.
  
  The purpose of the project was to replace all parts of the client's total sales system that were still written in RPG code and whose origins dated back to the mid-1980s, with modern Java-based technology.
  
  Of all the RPG functionality that had been developed and managed over several decades, the part that handled sales accounting was the most complex and time-consuming to replace.
  
  Since Peter is not only a Java expert and specialist, but also possesses solid knowledge in accounting, he was given responsibility for designing and developing the replacement for this functionality.
  
  The solution needed to be able to handle, among other things:
  
  * accounting for all sales for five separate companies within the Odeon/Filmstaden group
  
  * operations spread across two countries (Sweden and Norway)
  
  * completely separate accounting requirements and charts of accounts for each company
  
  * different tax and VAT accounting rules in Sweden and Norway
  
  * a very large number of combination purchases consisting of products, payment methods, discounts, etc.
  
  * accrual and other accounting requirements
  
  * export of accounting data to five separate accounting systems, via several different file standards for accounting (e.g. SIE4)
  
  * performance, as thousands of purchase transactions need to be processed and posted daily
  
  To handle the large amount of input and output data, charts of accounts and tax rules, most of the accounting rules were implemented in the Kogito framework using DMN (Decision Model and Notation).
  
  With DMN, complex business logic can be modeled and defined graphically, based on input and output data, and then packaged as executable Java logic. A major advantage of this approach is that the business rules become readable and manageable even for non-developers, such as the finance department, who can then understand and verify the rules.
  
  The final solution was a strictly asynchronous, message-driven application that continuously posts every single sales transaction in real time for the five companies, using the DMN API.
  
  To ensure that the posting rules worked correctly for the countless variations of purchase combinations, great importance was placed on extensive and detailed test cases that covered all scenarios.
  
  Since correctness in posting is business-critical, the new solution was run in parallel with the old one for an extended period. The results from both systems were continuously compared until all differences were eliminated.

• Film City

  System Developer And Architect

  2023 - 2024

  Project Mavel involved developing a new solution for external sales of gift cards, one of the client's most important business areas.
  
  Peter was responsible for designing and developing the solution, which included several integration points with external systems and stakeholders. The result was a new application based on the Quarkus platform, with Jakarta EE and JAX-RS as the technical foundation.
  
  Common JSON contracts for data exchange were developed in collaboration with other teams. Great emphasis was placed on securing the system that handles all communication, including through encrypted VPN technology over secure connections.
  
  Peter led both the design and development of the project.
