Salko has 9 years of experience from different positions, mainly as product owner, in technically advanced projects in agile environments. Among them are methodologies such as Scrum, SAFE and the V-model (complete system development lifecycle), as well as different technologies in fields like Automotive, Water treatment, IoT and Embedded SW.
Despite working mostly as a product owner, Salko has a deep technical understanding thanks to his interest and solid base from his years at Linköping University, from where he holds an MSc in Mechatronics from the Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering program.
Salko currently works as a product owner within IoT - 4G connectivity and integration of devices to the cloud. He is passionate about his work and is looking forward to working on the next exciting project/technology, either within embedded SW or other fields.

Background Xylem Inc. is a leading global water technology company that provides solutions for water and wastewater management. Product owner in a team working on enabling the equipment in the field to connect to the cloud platform for remote monitoring, data logging, reducing operational costs.
Assignment 1. Lead a project of developing embedded SW and integration to a cloud platform, converting 5000 4G gateways deployed across the globe to the new standard. 2. Find/develop a new, technically capable and cost effective solution for a 4G gateway while keeping backwards compatibility. 3. Find/develop a suitable technical solution to enable camera streaming, power measurement and connectivity for remote pump stations. 4. Responsible for general IoT initiatives at Xylem Water Solutions AB.
Task Salko is responsible for the technical solution, meaning prioritizing what to implement and when, translating business requirements to technical ones and owning the backlog. Working alongside system architects and experts in modems, cellular connectivity, and cloud platforms. Working on optimizing provisioning and normal operation. Including integration to the cloud.

Result 1. The SW (everything except bootloader and OS) of the 4G gateway was developed from scratch. All customer features are ready and what remains is for production to adapt the new SW and the customer migration to start. 2. 11 suppliers were initially considered and after a lot of discussions and work, one remains. As of now a well progressed discussion is taking place with this supplier and SW-development is scheduled for the summer. 3. Deployed 20 pilot stations across the globe - the technical solution works fine but the chosen camera model does not withstand the gases in the pump station and breaks down after X months. Another camera solution is being worked on.

Result 1. Several releases were made, improving functionality and solving bugs. Multiple HW components were changed and production issues resolved. 2. Task Ownership of the BMS , responsible for development of new features and owner of the backlog.
Result Salko conducted an FMEA, did documentation, overall process optimization and was driving an investigation about current sensor accuracy.
The corona crisis combined with a reorganization made his stay at Northvolt shorter than expected.

Background Scania CV is top tier truck and bus manufacturer. The team was working with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
Assignment Function owner for two functions - AEB (Advanced Emergency Braking) and LDW (Lane Departure Warning).
Task The major initiative was to transfer the SW from one ECU to another, while improving the performance of the functions.
The main responsibilities were Ownership of AEB and LDW Definition of general requirements and systemization Function development Benchmarking, verification & validation both in SW and in truck as well as simulations Monitoring and analysis of accidents and incident reports Certifications and legislation monitoring
Result The functions were transferred successfully to the new ECU. Certifications were performed as intended. A trip through central Europe was conducted and the functions were validated.

Background Volvo Car AB is top tier car manufacturer. The Dependability department was working with developing safety critical SW for the driveline.
Assignment Test engineer in the project Safety validation and verification of the 417A GEA3 Powertrain.
Task Definition of requirements and with regards to ISO 26262. Execution of tests and generating test reports. Collaboration with development engineers on a daily basis.
Result Requirements and tests were incrementally developed as the functionality of the SW grew. The tests covered ECU, CAN-interface and electrical faults Multiple test reports were generated.

Master Thesis

Assignment The master thesis Steering System Verification Using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) was a proof-of-concept investigating possibilities and difficulties of moving calibration of ECU-parameters in car to HIL-rigs.
Task Investigate if it is possible to calibrate major parts of the steering rig ECU in the HIL-rig instead of in the field.
Result The steering system was integrated in the HIL rig. Tests were automatizing tests in order to optimize the calibration. The conclusion was that it is possible to move parts of the calibration to the rig.
